eSafe Service Pack II update package for v8.5 released

ESAFE SERVICE-PACK II PACKAGE FOR V8.5
Please be advised that a new service pack update package was released.
Kindly find below all the necessary details.

OVERVIEW
This eSafe service pack (SP) update contains new functional enhancements, along with stabilizing fixes, and performance improvements.

AVAILABILITY
This SP2 update package applies and is relevant only to eSafe Gateway/Mail/Web v8.5 with SP1.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • This SP2 requires pre-installation of SP1, without it the update will do nothing and exit.
    (More info about SP1 content and how to apply it can be found here).
  • Applying this SP will change the product version to v8.5.43.3
  • Applying this SP will automatically restart eSafe services twice in order to apply the new changes.

IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES

  • Improved the Security Center Console (eConsole) to support connecting to eSafe appliance via a non-management interface or behind NAT connections. (WT385, TD5839/6076)
  • Improved the Security Center Console to control whether multiple administrators are allowed connecting at the same time. (WT408, TD6079)
  • Improved the Security Center Console to support operation in a terminal server environment (esafe.ini location was moved to the eSafe root folder). (TD6077)
  • Enhanced the email action scanning result not to block the entire email when IMG tags are detected, even if configured to "block entire email if it contains a dangerous attachment". (WT374, TD5836)
  • Improved the Security Center Console (eConsole) update now option to popup a message that will inform the administrator that "Update Now" should be done per machine and not via group/cluster (WT409, TD6078)
  • Resolved an issue where the antivirus (AV) engine fails on scanning certain RTF files. (WT354, TD5983)
  • Resolved an issue where the AV engine fails on scanning certain PDF and XLS files. (WT382, TD5736)
  • Resolved an issue when creating profiles using full IP address ranges (15 characters length). (WT399, TD5890)
  • Resolved an issue with not apply/duplicate AppliFilter "exclude IP address" settings under cluster/group environment (WT391, TD5817)
  • Resolved an issue when viewing/releasing quarantine emails via the central management machine in a cluster/group environment failed. (WT384, TD5900)
  • Resolved an issue when certain URLs with binary content in the HTTP header cause a failure in eSafe service. (WT421, TD6062/5969/5967)
  • Resolved an issue with the update module on low bandwidth connections. (TD6113)
  • Resolved an issue when verifying the URL Filter and Content Spam Engine licenses. (WT433, TD6123)
  • Resolved an issue where the AV engine resulted in a scan error when "HTML keyword filter" consisted of more than 1024 keywords. (WT396, TD5871)
  • Resolved an issue in the Security Center (eConsole) where the "Update now" button was disabled on appliances running in "Central only" mode. (WT435, TD6129)
  • Resolved an issue in the Security Center (eConsole) where the "Import" and "Export" were not visible in the URL Filter Policy screen. (WT440, TD6142)

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Before applying the update package, download and install the latest Security Center Console v8.5.060.0 on your desktop.

  2. Run eSafe Security Center and enter the following package names under Policy Center | Updates| Service Pack: lin_crsp0805043002.upd
    (The above package is a special redirect package init the system, download and apply the SP packages automatically)

  3. Click the Update Now button to download and install the update package automatically.

IMPORTANT:
The update will automatically restart eSafe services twice in order to apply the new changes, may take few minutes, so we suggest doing the update during off-peak hours.
