F5: New Virtual Management Appliance

Enterprise Manager offers flexible and cost effective platform for managing physical and virtual BIG-IP solutions F5 recently announced Enterprise Manager version 2.2, a centralised management solution that enables enterprises, service providers, and cloud providers to effectively monitor and manage multiple BIG-IP application delivery controllers. With this release, the Enterprise Manager solution is also now available as a virtual appliance, giving your customers greater flexibility in building hybrid physical-virtual environments. 

Enterprise Manager gives customers a single-pane view of their entire application delivery infrastructure in real time, and provides monitoring and management tools for optimising performance and scaling the infrastructure to meet business needs. Version 2.2 includes the following enhancements:

• Flexible deployment options with the new Virtual Edition
• Enhanced SSL management and reporting
• Auto-tracking of service contract end dates
• Support for external databases
