What's New in Endpoint Security R80

• Unified Security Management: Check Point Endpoint Security R80 unifies Endpoint and network security management for the first time, offering revolutionary visibility and control of corporate endpoints. On the server side, a single consoles manages all endpoint security functions, delivering a complete view of endpoint security status and unified event analysis. On the client side, a single efficient endpoint client maximizes security.
• Server Side Features: A redesigned Endpoint Management:
  • Provides a comprehensive view of all endpoint security functions.
  • On the server:
    • Add Devices from Log: For Media Encryption and Port Protection, unknown devices are centrally logged, whereupon their ID can be utilized to define access groups, for example.
    • Compliance - Restricted State: Endpoints that are not in compliance are set to this state. Users access only that part of the network specified by the restriction rules.
    • Software Deployment: This feature on the Endpoint Security Management server lets administrators:
      • Control specific blades, versions, and hot fixes that are installed on the endpoints.
      • Define the deployment configuration, add and remove blades, and monitor progress from the administration console.
    • EMON Reports: A comprehensive suite of reports providing the administrator with clear analysis of their endpoints' security.
    • Integrated audit and event logs displayed in SmartView Tracker.
• Client Side Features: Check Point Endpoint Security uniquely defines a single agent that combines all the critical components necessary for comprehensive security and connectivity on the endpoint, while providing a transparent user experience.

To improve and extend the end user experience, the R80 release introduces:

• Improved security and performance: Improved client-side performance and new security enhancements.
• Windows 7 Support - 64 bit
• Upgrade From Legacy Endpoint Security Installations: Upgrades from Endpoint Security R7.x clients and some legacy client versions.
• New Client UI: The common user interface has been redesigned for intuitive use.
• Improved Logging: Sharing of logging and events management infrastructure with the existing Network Security solutions.
• Client Log Viewer: New Endpoint client log viewer that shows log content for all blades enabled on the client.
• Improved Compliance Engine: New compliance engine enhances usability and remains active
  regardless of which blades are enabled. Placing the mouse on the endpoint client in the Windows
  notification area shows if the endpoint complies with the organization's security policy.
• Full Disk Encryption:
  • Dynamic decryption of selected volumes
  • No need for two Full Disk Encryption Administration accounts: only one account with
    permission to create recovery media.
  • Full Disk Encryption key creation separate from deployment: Partition encryptions keys are now created after the Deployment phase completes. This means images of disks with Full Disk
    Encryption can be created without the image containing the partition encryption key set.
  • Enhanced Full Disk Encryption encryption speed
• EPS Installer - Three packages and Remove Feature: All client component packages are installed using only three installer files. Specific blades can be added or removed during installation or upgrade. For more information and location on the CD, refer to Endpoint Security R80 Release Notes.
