ThreatPulse Release 2.0 Upgrade
September 15, 2011 - Maintenance Outage
PLEASE READ - Maintenance Outage
Description of Maintenance: Service wide deployment of Cloud 2.0. This will be an all day rolling deployment, beginning in Sydney and moving geographically westward. Also occurring during the deployment is a firewall upgrade in Sunnyvale, impacting only that site and only as that site is upgraded to Cloud 2.0.
Customer impact: Customers connecting via Explicit, Mobile Client, and Proxy Forwarding shall automatically be re-directed to active data pods within the same geographic location. Customers using IPsec to Singapore and Sydney locations will see their tunnels drop and re-establish to their secondary location (if configured) as the upgrade occurs. Customers using IPsec to all other sites may experience a fail-over delay of up to 15 seconds as the F5 load balancer directs traffic to another active data pod in the location. Customers may not be able to access the portal for up to 15 minutes between 19:00 and 19:30 PDT.
Please see the Customer Actions Required below for additional details.
Date: 15 September 2011
Time: Starting at 09:00AM PDT (18:00 UTC). The duration of maintenance is expected to be 12 hours, however, customer impacting outages are defined in the following section.

Customers not using proxy.threatpulse.com or the F5 load balancer VIP, will experience the full outage (up to 30 minutes) for the Data Pod they are directly connected to.
Cloud client connector action: For those who have deployed the Cloud client connector and have specific user policy configured, please do not make changes to your user specific policy until you have upgraded your clients to the Cloud 2.0 version of the client. If you modify your user specific rules without updating the Cloud client, your user specific policy will not function properly. Please see KB4622 for additional details.
